ABOUT FILMING LOCATIONS

Preachers at Cejl

Former county jail, Prison at Cejl, is an exceptional building with a history dating back to the 18th century. The building, originally located behind the city walls, gradually found itself in the middle of the city, and few people today have any idea that political opponents of Nazism and Communism were still executed here during the 20th century. In the 1990s, the buildings were used for various purposes, such as the Moravian Provincial Archives or the Police of the Czech Republic. The preacher is alive.

INTERESTING FACT FROM THE SHOOTING

In the film, the penitentiary represents the orphanage where the protagonist finds himself for a while. It is an interesting coincidence that the orphanage was also its original use between 1778 and 1784, before the convicts from Špilberk moved into the prison. The entrance courtyard from Bratislavská Street underwent a cinematic transformation, where all the weeds had to be removed and the modern concrete ground covered with dust and sand to make the historical scene look authentic.
