A total of five caves are accessible in the best developed karst area in the Czech Republic north of Brno. The most famous is the Punkevní Cave with the Macocha Abyss, which is said to be the most photogenic. Others include the Kateřinské Caves or the largest caves in the country - Sloupsko-šošůvské Caves.
