The castle is one of the most visited monuments in our country. The Neo-Gothic reconstruction from the 19th century made it a romantic mansion in the style imitating English Tudor Gothic. The castle stands in one of Europe's largest parks, which includes a palm greenhouse, a Venetian fountain, a Roman aqueduct, a Chinese pavilion, a minaret and the artificial ruins of John's Castle. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
