The exceptionally well-preserved medieval castle was the base of the Lords of Pernštejn. The original simple layout of the castle is lost in the tangle of later reconstructions. However, the late Gothic and early Renaissance appearance of the castle has not been affected by further rebuilding and is a unique example of the transformation of a medieval fortress into a more luxurious Renaissance residence.
